English Tutor Cheshire Areas Covered and Costs
I run tuition sessions online and in the home, either at my office in Knutsford or at the students’ homes in some cases.
I currently have students in the following areas: Knutsford, Altrincham, Bowdon, Hale, Lymm, Wilmslow and Alderley Edge.
Tuition is charged at £70 per hour.

Length of sessions
For GCSE and A Level students, sessions are a minimum of one hour with many students opting for 90 minutes, especially if they have travelled to me for the lesson.
Younger students are better suited to one hour sessions.
Booking weekly sessions
Most students and parents agree that having a regular weekly session is the best way to proceed, usually one evening during the week or a suitable time on Sundays. This provides the student with some structure, focus and momentum and enables us to set out a plan with specific goals over an agreed period of time.
During the school holidays, many students opt to take up more frequent sessions as a lot can be achieved in a relatively short space of time, such as consolidating areas of weakness in technique or subject knowledge or doing some useful, stimulating wider reading!
As the academic year progresses, the focus for most students inevitably shifts towards the examination period. With this in mind, I tend to work more on the skills required when working under timed conditions as well as ensuring that all those crucial organisational elements are being attended to. This is frequently something that younger students struggle with unless they are given some clear, supportive guidance.
Preparation and organisation are the cornerstones of success in exams! I can help get these basics sorted out for the students so that they are able to work independently and with increasing confidence.
